I'm pleased to see Periero held onto second. He deserves it.
Should be a nice ride into Paris tomorrow, then just get outta the way o' the sprinters, cuz they'll do their thing... :-)
A great Tour despite the lack of Lance and the scandals. The boys done good. |

Woah, did I miss something...
Sergio Gracia is racing the Tour?
Holy crap. I had no idea. That guy is a machine. He's like the #1 rider in the world for freeriding. Last I checked he was the guy who was doing stuff like a backflip on a 30 foot drop down at the Red Bull Rampage.
That was admittedly a couple of years ago I think (like I said, not much of a follower of this kind of thing).
It would be interesting to see how he places in the other side of biking which requires a totally different skillset. |

Oh OK...
I got my names mixed up anyhow. It's Cedric Gracia that runs the crazy stuff.
Not Sergio...
Like I said, I don't really follow it too closely, and it's easy to get a bit mixed up after a couple years...
I just would have liked to see a guy who raced both ends... especially a guy at the top of one end.
Oh well... anyhow... oops. :) |

His sample A was good but the sample B seemed doubtful. I'll still give him the benefit of the doubt unless the UCI and all the authorities say otherwise. |

Where do you get that? As I understand it, sample A shows evidence of doping and they are waiting for results of sample B now?

Ironic that Rikki started this thread, the first thing I thought about during the scandal was the tour when I heard about Rikki. I guess Landis and Rikki have something in common. I would still going shooting with Rikki and biking with Landis.

He's in denial-- he blaming everyone.
Said it was Jack Daniels or some crap, then said someone told him to say that, hes just got crazy stories..
The only way hes innocent if is someone tampered his samples, I dont see that happening..
My guess was it was some Cream he applied, that only shows up for a little bit of time, the sad thing is, it probably didnt help him.
For the record, Im no expert on Doping, lol-- just his stories dont add up..

The lab that did the testing has been investigated for questionable practices in previous tests. I'll also note that both the lab, UCI and WADA have violated their own rules on testing and confidentiality on this.
It's a genuine MESS. This is one of the most hodge-podge testing scenarios I've seen in cycling in...well ever.
I'm still completely baffled. This is not what I'd expect to see in a doping case. I think that's what has people totally confused. The irregularities in the way the testing has been done to this point in time concern me. This isn't over by a long shot.
I'm going to be interested to see the final results. I do see tampering with the samples as a possibility. Remote, but it is possible. Honestly, this is just a very, very strange scenario. Weirdness all the way around. |

Did Lance ever have tests done at that lab? If so wouldn't it stand to reason they would have tried to screw him as well if their practices are questionable?

the part that confuses me, if it's true, is that according to Landis he was tested a total of 8 times. 4 times prior to the test in question, and 3 times after. Yet, only this 1 test is coming back positive. I've never heard in all my life of someone doping on just one occasion. I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt, given the history of resentment towards American cyclists in France, the long going saga of false accusations against Armstrong, and the questionable record of this particular lab. |

If Landis is the only one saying something, I'd start to wonder. Can you find any other source which agrees that he's been tested this many times?
