Hey thx for that... now to get the PUI under way...
(actually, I'm headed to bed. It's late and I have to get up early. Don't have too much fun without me... and if you do, I expect cliffnotes in the morning)
:-)

oh my gosh - my heart just went in my throat when I clicked that link and it took me to my own profile page!
I thought that is the *LAST* thing I want to be accused of - and I couldn't figure out how someone could even think that based on any pics I have shared anywhere!
I am learning I am going to have to read between the lines with a few of you!

And she didn't know about it? Hummmmmmmmmmmmm, sounds like an excuse to me. My kids don't get on line without permission and even then I have programs that tell exactly what they've been up too. They got angry at first but then realized it was for their own safety.
And if it was the daughter that's one bright little child she's got there because the daughters were the younger kids, right? I had a bit a a time figuring out your system there, I seriously doubt that her daughter figured it out and wrote the notes that were on them. If her daughter can post like that heck she can come work on my stuff! :)

That's just the theif looking for attention (via sympathy) again. I read the letter. She's been reading the posts and would rather say she's sorry at this point and blame it on her daughter than to pay any fines for copyright violation. My friend emailed her a week or so ago asking questions about her photography knowing that some were stolen. She answered all the questions with lies and full understanding of what she was being asked. Not like a mother who didn't know what was going on or a daughter playing a prank. She replied to my friend's email yesterday and signing a different name. The "apology" email came from a martie geisler. Totally different name from the rest. Last time she signed her name Daniel, first time is was Sarah Smith. Too many lies. I'm not buying any of it, just the facts. She stold photos and posted them as her own. SICKO! Go get her guys! |

hehe, yeah. I believe I recall seeing where she had said that her children were all under 10? My daughter is 8, and I think she is pretty bright, but I know she couldn't post a photo on a website without some help from her mom or myself, let alone go find one and grab it and put it up somewhere. :-)

Parents have historically been held legally responsible for their children's misdeeds, so I really don't think that the excuse can or should be used to write off the theft, even if it were true. Which it probably is not.

Another pea! Sad that these two communities had to come together under these circumstances. I never knew about this site, and the photos are breathtaking! |

Too cool you might be cool but you don't know what you are talking about. The quality of what you did would be so poor it is not going to take away from what I am selling in my print store.
I never said it worked on my DPC site which is what you are trying to copy but on my home page MPR Productions where the right click is disabled and also the image bar from microsoft.

Just because it isn't easy to protect your images doesn't mean you shouldn't try. When something better comes along I'll upgrade my web site.
Oh and don't go copieing my home page now to prove your point. You do not have permission to reproduce any of my images from any of my pages. Neither does anyone else.

Using my Macintosh, I simply click and hold on your Macaw image, and then drag to the desktop. A jpg of your image is instantly created on my desktop with your filename (a_blushingmckaw.jpg). Pretty spiffy.
The moral of the story is that disabling rightclicking only irritates legitimate users who are accustomed to opening images in a separate tab or window for later viewing, etc. It does not deter someone who wants to make a copy.

I would respectfully suggest that anyone who seriously believes nonsense like right-click disabling in any way protects their images is the one who doesn't know what they're talking about.
All it does is break browser behaviour and piss off users. |

Gosh I hope not! That's a scary thought! I've seen no mention though, and quite a few people have investigated her thouroughly.

I didn't go copying your home page but it would be super simple to do so. The point is right click only slows people down, it won't stop them.
