I am trying an experiment to see if you can link to this photo to see if anyone can tell what it might be. I just shot it today while hiking in northeast CT. It was on the north side of the mountain.
I don't know if this will work. I've never tried to link to an external link before.
.
Smooth Yellow False Foxglove.
Thanks Karen

Sorry it is so big. I will need some instruction from others who have done this on how to get this image to be smaller. |

It sort of looks like a foxglove before the flowers are open.
Did a bit of searching, it could be this:

Thanks. I believe that is what it is. After reading the description, which says the lower leaves are cut, I knew it had to be it. I have never seen one, and am always looking for new species to identify. Thanks Karen. |

We know where your head is at. Hey, you never know what might be growing in these out of the way places. Even where I live, there might be more than water lilies growing in the marsh.quote=Strikeslip] Pot. I'm calling the DEA.

As an update to my current photo ops, I am trying to go to areas of special concern in Connecticut. This plant was taken at Soapstone Mountain, an area of special concern in our state. If you want to know more about this database, see my profile which has a few links to maps, endangered species, etc. I will be adding my wanderings to my profile as I take these trips. My next trip will be to Mashapaug Pond in Union, to a place called Bigelow Hollow. |
