Just wondered if it's humanly possible to connect my laptop to the Internet through a Blackberry?
My wife just got a new Blackberry (7250 with Verizon), and I'm wondering if there's anyway of using it to access the Internet with the laptop.
It would just be rather cool to pull off to a rest area at times and be able to connect without trying to find a wifi signal, ya know? I've read that it may be possible, but I don't see quite how it would be done... |

i believe that verizon offers a 'tethering' service that does that. you get a usb cable and software and can access through the device. i think it costs $15 a month if u have the unlimited data plan on the blackberry already
hope this helps |

Alan, have you looked into a Sprint aircard? I have the Merlin s620...I get about DSL speeds when I'm at home on the EV-DO network (which is set up around most major cities) and if you're in the middle of nowhere, you still get at least dial up speeds as long as there's any Sprint signal at all. It's 50 bucks a month and well worth it.

My brother uses a Sprint card for his work with the newspaper, but I'm not about to shell out $$$$ for it.
I wouldn't use this capability all that often, but since my wife's company is paying for the Blackberry, I'm interested in seeing if it would work in this way for when we travel, etc.
