I specifically have ShutterPug in mind here, but judging by the "quality" of the entries I've browsed through, just about anyone here could really clean up, and there's $1000 to be won.

"If you photo wins the grand prize you then assign copyright to Meredith Corporation for prize money received and no longer have rights to that photo."
Might be worth it for $1000 though, unless its a REALLY good photo. |

for a $1000, they can have the rights....I can always do a reshoot as the models belong to me. :-) |

A couple years ago, I entered one of my kittens photo to their "baby pets" contest. It was taken with my old .8mp Mavica (yes I said .8) and I won $2000 (before they lowered the prize money to $1000) I don't care what they did with the photo as it wasn't anything special to me, just an old photo I had sitting on my hardrive. Was well worth the $2000. :)
I also won a cook book once. Woo Hoo!! I don't cook. :) |

In fact, I just checked and it's still on the winners page. Down towards the bottom, Adorable baby pet winner - Jennifer, GA. Pretty funny! :)
That's Frankie, I have a few photos of him in my port, although he's MUCH MUCH bigger now. :)

Here's a bigger version of the photo. I had to dig it up from the deep dark depths of my harddrive. Looking at it now, it's a pretty mediocre photo. LOL!!

| well, I entered a pic earlier tonight, but havent received the email yet saying it has been approved, nor is it appearing on the web site yet. Has anyone else entered this round? If so how long did it take for the image to show up there? |

I've entered several other of their contests and sometimes I got an email confirming and sometimes I didn't but it always showed up in the gallery. It should show up in the gallery the day after the submission date if I remember correctly. It's been awhile since I've entered anything though.
I think once it rolls over you should see a link on the page that says "view your entry or something like that". Good luck! :) |

Edit: I just looked at about a dozen pictures. Most would score about 4.2 here at dpc. One of my cats won't hold still but the catnip sure works wonders for getting their attention!
