I'm wanting to set up my own website for some of my better pictures but not sure what software I should try to go for - there are so many options out there!

I want to be able to show my pics, tell anyone who looks about myself and my work and have some sort of contact page.

JAlbum has been recommended to me but has anyone used JAlbum and if so how did you get on?

The other alternative is to download Front Page and do own design.

Does anyone have any comments and/or suggestions?

Many thanks in advance

Jacq

I used Frontpage for mine and SimpleViewer for the galleries!

I've used Pixelpost for a while. Very easy, and you can use the basic templates, or change them to your own taste.

edit: fixed link

I used this //jalbum.net/ its free and it does an awsome job. People also make skins for it so you can choose from oodles of different looks and feels for your site. Here is one place for skins for you to check out //jrepository.engblom.org/ . I customised the background process for my site but the look was generated by the program.

hope this helps

For the Mac have you tried iWeb? Limited, but great integration with iPhoto and iMovie.

Have a look at my family site if you want.

I don't see why not. It's web based. I'm pretty sure you can use the admin area with Opera.

After reading this thread I downloaded a few of the ones mentioned in this thread. So far, I really like the //jalbum.net one.

I am in the process of customizing my site. I don't have enough "portfolio" pictures yet. I am working on that this week.
