It seems that in your scoring of this challenge you were "bent" on it actually being "gold". 5 of your comments included statements essentially asking "Where is the gold"?

Realize that a photo here must be interesting to a wide variety of people, what you think is wonderful, is not necessarily wonderful to all. I think it is a nice photo, but not outstanding. Had I been voting in this challenge, I most likely would have given it a 5. The petals of the flowers have strange "auras" around them that makes the photo look unnatural to me.

Your average score given of 4.1586 tells me that you are pretty critical of photos that you vote on. I think you should be happy with your score as 77% of the 177 votes were a 5 or above.

Just my 2cents

Those were in shots where there was no gold visible, truly. None of those shots included the color yellow, if you notice. I give people plenty of 6, 7, 8's - i have a low average because I always vote extremely low on photos that I believe are DNMC. There were so many photos in gold that had absolutely no gold in them whatsoever...or ones that used jewelry just like the challenge said not to.

Technically speaking, your photo has no gold visible as well, so expect to get low scores from people who think your photo DNMC. Again, the title was "Gold", not "Yellow", so your photo DNMC and should receive lower scores by your own voting criteria. You received a pretty high score overall for a photo that had no gold whatsoever.

You would have been lucky to get a 3. YOur entry DNMC. Even worse is you are complaining and trying to justify your entry. I would be more careful w/ your subject choice next time and also most of the time when a underrated photo conversation starts, its not the photographer who starts it, its someone else who thinks it scored low. Apparently you are the only one who thinks it was underrated.

Ahh yes, insult the voters. That wins you points. The challenge was "gold". How much clearer could it get? Photos that score well generally don't deviate much, if at all, from the challenge description. I was lenient on the interpretation, but most voters are not.

Dude, you've been nothing but ego since you got here. None of us, including you, are the end all be all of photography. The human race has varied tastes, and it's not always going to suit you. Chill out! Relax! Have a margarita!

1. You mention you vote low on DNMC and karma seems to be handing you back what you give out. It would appear that several people thought your "yellow" flower DNMC in the "gold" challenge.

2. I believe you have started other threads like this as well....and then been pissed off when people tell you 'their' interpretation and then you firing back with how people on here don't know anything. So you ask, you receive, and then you bitch about what you receive. I've seen other past members do this as well...and frankly...people don't like it...online or IRL. Perhaps you should quit asking if you really don't want to know the truth.

btw....just my opinion :)
