What do you own? What do you like? Looking for a good pair to use both around the house and while doing outdoor activities (lawn mowing, etc.).
I'm inclined to stay away from Bose just because I own a pair of their QuietComfort headphones (NOT noise canceling) and didn't find the quality to be that good.
So far, I've read up on the Sony MDR NC50s and the Sennheiser PXC 250s. Both have a mix of good and bad reviews.
I need some guidance and first hand experiences, pros AND cons. |

i've heard great things about sennheisers but usually they're the HD series. I love my Grados (225's) but they're open air and that means non-noise cancelling, but oh, almost perfect sound reproduction, you can hear everything :-D |

I have the low end Grado's (SR60) for use around the house. They are one of the best headphones I've ever owned, but the comfort is lacking. The foam rests right on my ears and starts to get scratchy after awhile. |

I agree the comfort of the grados is not very good. You can get flat pads for them though. I believe the 60's are a smaller model, with a different type of pad?
Gotta love that Grado sound :-D |

Yes, comfort is the biggest factor when i look at headphone. Imagine wearing them for two hours and then your ear ache.
I found some head phones by audio-technica are best for comfort, and they sound damn good too.

I've got some $300 Sennheiser's, don't know the model right off. Love 'em, very comfie and great sound. I've also got mid-range Shures for my ipod, if you like earbuds (i don't, particularly, but these are fairly comfortable). |
