Actually, it's a self-assignment.

Starting tomorrow I'm spending a week in Point Clark on the eastern shore of Lake Huron.

I'm told it's considered one of the best places in the world to capture sunsets (like we need more of those).

There's also a beautiful old lighthouse.

I've got 1.5 gigs of memory to fill. I'll post my favourites from the trip when I get back.

Cheers everyone.

Good luck in the challenges.

See you soon.

get a laptop and take it with you... you could have 100 Gb instead of 1.5 ;)

Good luck... and let us know when they are ready to see :)

I'm deliberately keeping it low to force myself to economise, and use my eye more carefully.

I imagine RAW takes up way more room than even the highest res JPEG's my camera stores. Am I right?

Well, week long project is a long time... I know what you saying, but you may kick yourself if you miss a shot, or wished had more space.

If you can't carry a laptop, at least a small 512 card just in case...

and yes, raws are a lot bigger than uncompressed JPGs :)

Are we able to post small video clips here? I'm also taking my miniDV camera, and might get some good stuff from that.

1.5 gb may last for a week - but why risk it? Even being conservative that may last me 2-3 days but thats if I don't shoot a lot. Normally I'd burn through that in about a day. I'm one of those people who never deletes a photo though, even if it looks terrible.
If you're not bringing a laptop, at least snag an iPod with the camera adapter.

Don't forget extra batteries and your tripod!

I've got two sets of good rechargeable batteries, and a strong Manfrotto tripod.

I suppose, if worst comes to worst and I need more storage, I can always buy some there.

Thanks for all the feedback.
