I deleted a voicemail from one of my best friends this morning because I was going to call him back when I hung up. The next voicemail was his friend telling me that he passed away yesterday. I hung up from my VM immediately to call the friend back and now Verizon tells me I can't recover the deleted VM once I disconnect from the call. I'd like to recover the VM since it was quite long and the last call he ever made to me. I feel like there's got to be a backup tape somewhere. Does anyone know?

I can't help you but I'm sorry to hear about your friend. :(

So, sorry to hear about the passing your friend :-(

Most likely there isn't anything you can do about the VM. It's quite likely that Verizon doesn't back up voicemail for privacy reasons.

You could keep trying. You may find a sympathetic technician that can recover it, if the backup does exist.

I work for a cell phone company and am sorry to say I don't see any way to get it. We use the same type of sever and I have needed a voicemail for a legal fight for my company and they couldn't get it. If they can't get a voicemail to save our company money then I don't think they can for a customer. Like they said you can undelete it before you hang up. This is why I never delete until it is full.

Very sorry to hear about you loss.
