I will be heading to South Africa for about two weeks in the not-so-distant future and was wondering if anyone had experience purchasing travel insurance that covers personal property. I have a home-owners policy, which my equiptment is covered under, but that is only valid in the US. I do not need travel insurance that covers canceled hotels and/or plane tickets, but I just want to be able to insure my personal property. Any suggestions? |

Maybe you could contact the carrier who issued the coverage for your equipment while it is in the USA, and ask them for a temporary extension to include your trip abroad. Might be the cheapest since they already have a policy in place that could be supplemented with a limited term rider agreement.
