Hi all you Smugmug users.
Right now I don't do much advertsing for my dpcprints portfolio and am looking to find some other avenues to sell my prints in addition to it.
So.. I was wondering what kind of traffic do you folks who sell through smugmug get? I'm mostly speaking to the people who have prints up but don't do any specific advertising (I can't afford that).
Do you see any print sales from random folks? Or is it more a case of having other avenues (be it a home photography business or sporadic work for friends) that drives most of your sales or brings potential buyers to your portfolio?
I'm not sure I want to pay the big bucks for smugmug if the non-advertisement driven traffic is similar to DPCPrints which is much cheaper.
Thank you for looking!

Here's what I have for this month so far. I get lots of traffic. My images are posted small (800px or less) so would be higher if I had full-size images posted.
Hits: 39526 C. Ratio: ~82% Bytes: 672.79 MB
Feel free to use my referral code in my sig for a $5 savings!

What does the C. Ratio stand for? How do your sales do in relation to your traffic? Which I have to say looks great!

"The most important numbers are probably those for Medium, Large, and Original, since that indicates how many people looked at your larger photos after seeing thumbnails (so-called "conversion ratio"), but that's really entirely up to you."
I've had Smugmug for almost 3 years. Only about a year ago did I put my prices up indicating I was selling images. I've had one sale for a 20"x30" and just recently had another request for a 20"x30". I pass out business cards at shows and 'advertise' in my signatures on forums. I wish I could say I had more online sales (perhaps if you had the shopping cart option and lower prices...LOL...there'd be more sales) but most of the things I've sold have been at stores, consignment, and shows. Having an easy to use website helps and, of course, word of mouth. I also need to be better about keywording the pics. The original 20x30 sale came from someone in Idaho who searched for NYC pics and found my site that way.

Anyone is welcome to use my referral as well in my signature
Oh and my stats:
Photos viewed: 7618 | bandwidth used: 409.53 MB (out of 1 PB)
I have also revamped my whole website. If you go pro you can do all kinds of neat stuff.

Just to add I am hoping that my smugmug will soon generate more traffic. With all the modifying and astuff it is looking better for sure. But if anyone out is in smugmug already and customizing your site remember to make sure it looks ok in all browsers.
