Is it more accurate to say that we all start out sexless? I don't know, I'm really asking. |
both are wrong. we fundamentally have the genetic code with our XY & XX chromosomes. There may be no distinguishable difference at an early develpmental stage, but to say we all start out as girls is just stupid. And no Louis, neither sexless. |
But hasn't there been documented cases of virgin births (bible aside) where the sex of the child has always been a girl?

Men have nipples because ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny. Look it up :-) For the matter of that, we all have gills at an early stage of our development, which is one of the best arguments for evolution that we have...

Hee hee, was wondering when someone would bring that up! What the "ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny" means, in everyday language, is that during embryonic growth, the embryo revisits (recapitulates) each of the historical evolutionary stages (phylogeny) of the parent organism.
The theory has been mostly discredited, but it does have elements of truth. We do, as Robert points out, at certain stages of embryonic development, have features that hark to our evolutionary past.
Edit: Dance, monkeys, Dance!

An embryo with XY chromosomes CAN still develop into a girl if the Y chromosome is missing the SRY gene.

My browser is scripted to search for the words nipple and boob, along with other interesting topics... either that or I am sicker than I think.

Both male and female babies are born with nipples and ducts intact. It is the presence of genes that direct hormones to differentiate the breast tissue. The Y chromosome stimulates hormones such as testosterone to form male features.

So why is it that man-boobs can be legally exposed but woman-boobs can not?

I recently read the answer in a book, whose title caught my eye.
For that and many more answers buy my book, oh too, late. Then see my gallery of photos of the same name. Oh, "They beat me to it". The REAL answer is so that someone can write a book and actually make some sales on such things.
Here is the book: Why Do Men Have Nipples? Hundreds of Questions You'd Only Ask a Doctor After Your Third Martini (Paperback)
Keep submitting to this forum, internally maybe "they're" just getting a profile on the interest of the average DPC forum visitor.
