I knew I was becoming addicted to photography to at least a small extent, but had no clue how bad it had really become... Not only has planning for upcoming challenges consumed most of my free time, and not only has spending time in the DPC forums consumed most of my work day, but I realized today that my budget is starting to factor in new photo equipment as essential. Milk, cheese, bread, beer, glass... :) I was just working out my budget for the next week until I get paid and found myself trying to determine exactly how little I can get by on so I can finally pick up a Canon 50mm f/1.8 and 52mm UV filter this weekend... Um, is this bad? :D |

Nope - welcome to the club. I have maxed out several credit cards in my quest for equipment!

no kidding... I spend WAY too much time thinking about/trying to execute/post processing stuff for challenges. Way too much. The other day my 5 year old was yelling excitedly for me, because there was a bird in the back yard, and I could "use it for a challenge.. 'member when we spent forEVer trying to find a bird and there weren't any mom?" Speaking of which.. I"m supposed to be getting the next wave ready for their soccer games, not reading the forums. |

It really is quite sad when it gets to the point when friends and family start asking what the new challenges are each week... :) I now have a group of at least half a dozen of my friends on MySpace that wait with anticipation for me to post a new blog each week with details of what I scored the previous week, what the new challenge is, etc. I honestly believe that DPC is one of the best sites out there on the entire Web. How cool is it to have an entire community of people willing to give advice, offer encourangement, and push you to constantly try new realms of photography and push your own limits?! Yeah, I'm officially an addict... ;) |

I have never been to one of the anonymous clubs ..so how does it work?? ....we come here, read this and hide our cameras and credit cards??
it was raining today and it seems like the clouds are going to open up for some sunlight..can we start this from tomorrow :-p and so we continue on the next day and it turns out to be even better to take some pictures :-)
Why is addiction always bad and yet it feels good?
