My entry in the "On the Beach" challenge did very well. The comments were all positive but pointed out some defects. Palm leaves creeping in from the left side, colors a tad too saturated, etc... Because the challenge was under "Basic Editing Rules" I couldn't clone out objects or do the "Spot Editing" that I wanted to do with layer masks, etc...
Here are the original submission & final version - I would be interested in any comments you might have - both images from the same RAW file.

I like your mod's overall. It feels more like a sunset now.
You're not going to want to hear this, but your horizon isn't straight. :( |

Both good, edited version a lot more clear though (DUH)
about the horizon, I disagree... with the shore, horizon being a little skewed is ok, gives a better look if you ask me.
then again, I am a starter, so I might be wrong. I just like the way it is... again, both images are pretty good, one is clearer for the challenge :) |

Yep, for your print, I would correct it.

I actually like the colors in the version you submitted to the challenge. I loved the softness of them. |

In general, the version you entered has "nicer" colors in the sky. The remodeled version is nicer for the water and the beach, but the sky colors verge on "just another sunset" colors. I'd try for a blend of the two, carefully separating out the beach/foreground and warming that up while retaining the very appealing sky colors of the original, basically.
You definitely want to square up the true horizon; not only will that now be level, but it will add even a tad more oomph to the beach diagonal.
Heckuva shot.
