During my month-long exhibit in the Philippines, I was requested by the gallery owner to conduct a workshop on Portrait Photography. I said okay...only for one weekend. Then it became 2....then 3..til I said enough!

It was fun. It included photoshoots with models and some quick post-processing. Though we offered it with only limited slots available, the number swelled to 33 on my second weekend. Now, I have requests to do it in Singapore, Dubai, Hawaii, etc. Flattered? Yes! Am I gonna do it more? Probably not. I said yes to Singapore thus far.

Here's a forum with some pictures taken by the participants in my workshops. Please find time to scroll up to the last page...some really good ones there.

And here's more shots during the opening of my exhibit.

Last day is this 31st of July...same day when I fly back to Bangkok. Now back to my real world!

I owe the dpchallenge community a lot.

There are some really great photos there. What a joy for the students. How 'bout a workshop in California?

The exhibit looks like it was well done Manny.. were you impressed with the display of your work? And Congratulations on the success of your workshops... the participants did it up in true Manny style.. their photos were beautiful. (So were your models ..yowza!!) ;)

The lighting was gorgeous. (since the Germany workshop I pay attention to such things now..and actually know a bit more about what i'm looking at) .. education is a good thing!!

Again Congratulations on your success and welcome home (when you get there) :)

All the pictures are with the use of natural light. My first task was to teach them how to find the light.

I actually knew that about you... Pedro taught me. ;) Still astounds me though, when I see the finished photo..who knew natural light could work so well ;)

What makes a good portrait is the "light'. I always believe that natural lighting is always the best. And this has to be reflected in your subject's eyes.

Hey! Thought you were gonna let me teach you about studio work?!?! *I feel so rejected* ;)

Yes... sometimes I couldn't find a good light and you and your studio light can surely illuminate my pictures.

This is great Manny. I have recently found out something similar with a local well known professional who is doing work for a junior sporting club I'm involved with.

We have had a lot of wet weather here lately and he has decided to postpone a team sport photo shoot instead of moving indoors. When I questioned him on this he was quite adamant that he could achieve much better results with natural light and only used his lighting set up and studio now on rare occasions.

Sort of makes you think a bit??
