I'm stuck on my hurricane Katrina restoration picture.
Just ignore the little blemishes and such, I'm still cleaning it up, but the part that I'm having difficulty with is lying underneath the white stuff.
It looks like it's a pair of dungaree's or overalls (depending on where you live) and probably a polo collar type shirt.
What I would really like is a photo of the same or very similar outfit so I could possibly merge the two.
I know that there isn't really much hope of finding one, but I know how resourceful we DPCer's can be when we try.
My camera is broken and I̢۪m having to return it for repairs, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to finish off some OPR stuff.
Any help would be great, thanks.

the difficulty in this, is that it isn't a real jean material. It is a fake material to look like jean. It may have been home made from what I can tell. It similar to a 'vest' type of style, but closed enstead of open.

No buckles on the shoulder straps conecting to chest, it is sewn, and just finish the chest pocket, and a square neckline.

I think thats whow it may look from what I have seen 'home made' cloths and from how the water damage apears.

Maybe even snaps or buttons. Really hard to tell, but it isn't a buckle, and snap may be more suitible.. but could be hidden snaps.

thanks for the thoughts.

I guess if it's homemade, then I have no chance of finding a picture of one!

np, well, I checked several pages looking for something similar... and figured out what I was remembering is from what my mother made for one of my brothers... and sadly I don't have images.

Best thing to do, may be just clone the bottom of the chest pocket and add a shadow for the top of the pocket,

Just the edge sides to clone the seams on the top and on the straps. Than just even it all out. You may be putting to much thought into it. I don't think the people will mind much if the cloths is a little off. You did a great job on his face.

thanks.
But I would at least like to try and get the clothes the same as they were.
I'm sure that the people will remember what it looked like and notice if i do anything too different.

Speaking from "their" side of the fence:

I have made many of my kids' clothes myself, and I would notice even the tiniest difference. My husband, on the other hand, wouldn't have a clue.

There is no way you can reconstruct this to 100%, so you might as well just make it look acceptable. The seamstress (yes, I know I'm being sexist here) will know, but she also knows how bad the photo looked, and is probably very grateful to have a good looking photo, even if the clothes are different.

Nobody else will worry about such details, anyway.

That would be an intense cloning job, but might be the only thing you can do. You did a nice job on the photo, and I think beetle and littlegett are right, I'm sure they wouldn't mind little details being off :-)
