I have been shooting for years and have a big portfolio. I have never had a personal website as I never really sold my stuff outside my network of contacts but I now find that I may need one.
I went to the internal guy who handles my companies website but..to be honest....his stuff is too industrial for my style.
Does anyone here have a cool....and I mean COOL website template/guru suggestion?
I don't care about how friendly the site is...it just has to be smoking. I was going to have one of the ad agencies we work with build a site but I don't know if I need something uber expensive just yet.

One that comes to mind is Bob Rose's site (BobsterLobster)
//www.eyesopen.co.uk/
That rocks! I think it's available as a template, either one he bought or one he made. Can't remember :)

Wow. That's fancy. Before that I was going to mention simpleviewer. |

I was going to recommend hiring Konador to do it but I guess he would have mentioned himself if he wanted to. So instead I'll counterbalance _eug's vote for Simpleviewer with a vote against it. Blech. |

lol, thanks mk :)
I would if I could, but I tend lean more towards the "simple and elegant" (aka quick and easy) style website. I couldn't come close to making something as fancy as Bob's, so I thought I'd post that instead :) |

I use pixelpost on G8, it can be used as photoblog, but you can easily use it to display a gallery as well, just with tags. Looks ok, and it's really easy to setup and use.
Cheers,

it looks like he bought the simpleviewer source and jazzed it up. |

I used a website called otherpeoplespixels.com for my website template. It might be a little simple for what you are looking for but it might be worth checking out. I believe the site has 10 templates to choose from.
You can check out my site HERE to see the template I used.

Although I am a website designer, I bought a template as my time is valuable and a good website would have taken me some time.
I didn't like the gallery section of my template, so I bought the Simpleviewer source code and integrated it into the template.
It was still quite time consuming amending the Flash and HTML for my own uses.
I'll try to reply to the PMs from this thread in the next couple of days... I'm up to my ears in work!
Thanks for the kind words,
Bob
BTW, I've not checked, but the link above looks similar to where I bought my template from. I wouldn't be surprised if it was there, although I'd encourage people to get a different template to mine!
