Thankfully I have no entry in the Gold challenge, but a cursory look through the images leads me to believe that there are a good number of members who will go to incredible lengths to shoot for a challenge. Makes me want to suggest the following Challenge topics:

Fire-Walking

Quicksand

Edge of the Cliff

Deep Ocean -

Your photo must be taken at a minimum depth of 500ft.

Decapitation

Any of those would surely generate casualties. Maybe we need a whole new category of challenges called eXtreme! Challenges.

How about one where the camera cannot be supported by anything. Set the timer and throw it in the air as the shutter releases.

There was an exibit in Sydney recently where the photographer had done just that - for all of the photos in the whole show! They were mostly night city scenes, so lots of neon and car head/tail lights - really cool stuff.

Photograph something as you fall from heaving yourself off one of your favorite landmarks.

I might consider jumping to conclusions, jumping the gun, jumping.... well you know... but definitely nothing involving heights. A guy could get hurt doing that...
