I've taken three vacations so far this year and I'm just now getting around to processing the pics. Some of you have asked to see them, but I had trouble transferring them from my laptop to my PC.
I'll post some of the best ones as I get them processed. Here are some from my trip to North Carolina and Tennessee.
---------- ---------- <---(my favorite)
I'll post some from later from North Florida (dolphins), Dominican Republic, and the Virgin Islands. |

I was disappointed to see that this thread fell off of the top twenty without a comment. I'm usually pretty hard on myself but I like these shots. I was wondering if anybody else thinks that they are any good, especially the third one.
One more try...
. . . . . . and I'll leave it alone if there is no interest. |

I guess I'm just too traditional...your favorite is my least favorite. It's okay, but just doesn't hold my interest with anything. I like the second one very much (left you a comment on the pic.)
I like the first one better than the last one. It seems to have some different colors and a bit more interest with the water. Hope you post some more! Smokies is a great area and I'll have to get down there soon. |

I like the middle one the best. :)
Ya done good.
Did they tell you that Natahala means "land of the noonday sun?" Spend a day or two there, and you can figure out what it means. Don't know if you got in the water at all, but that is one cold river!!!

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I read the Cherokee translation and it definitely makes sense.
I didn't go in the river this trip because I was making this a trip for my son (yakatyou) who decided that he didn't want to get in that cold water. He was content with the driving tour with the occasional hike and lots of picture taking. I've been rafting and kayaking many times in that area...the Nantahala, the Ocoee, and the Chatooga River ("squeal like a pig"). |
