Well tomorrow is looking to be even hotter here in California than it was today and there's serious talk in the utility community of there being a stage 3 power emergency. If so, that means they will be randomly shutting off power so it'll be a good idea to save your work often tomorrow. May even want to bring a book with you to work. |

They have shut our power without previous notice many times. Thanks for the extra warning. |

Since you mentioned it. What do you look for when purchasing a battery backup? When winter storms come in a couple months it might be something good to purchase. |

In my other life I am a graphics designer. Save often has been my mantra for years. My left hand rests on ctrl+s while I'm using my mouse! Its important!! God, I have re-doing work! I also have a U.P.S. for emergency power because we have black outs / brown outs / and storm-related outtages waaaaaaaaaay too often!

We have all our computers on APC backup batteries. Makes ir really fun in a power outage, because they all start beeping, and we have to run around (usually in the dark) and shut them all down. Since we have 7 computers, plus an APC in the 'closet' which houses all the network stuff... fun times. Lots of beeping and cussing and stuff while we trip over stuff trying to shut everything done. Plus the security system is usually saying "power outage... something, something, something" in this annoying voice... |
