For the current B&W challenge, would using the 'INVERT' option be allowed? I am assuming so, as it applies to the whole image
More importantly, do you think it would be accepted by the voters? I would just be turning black into white and white into black.
Thanks for your two cents :)

To the first yes - the only restriction is that it should be a black and white image without being de-saturated.
The second point: I'd be really really surprised if you even made it to a 5 with a 'negative'

...because of pissing people off or because negative images often don't do well?

Inverted images rarely do well anyway. And in THIS challenge, "Black and White in Color", they are likely to be perceived as an attempt to finesse the topic, if you catch my drift?

The image, before inversion is strictly black and white. I just like the end result better with the black and white switched...LOL Seriously, no-one would be able to tell that it was inverted just by looking at it.
I am so on the fence over this. I really appreciate your opinions. I really don't want to piss anyone off!
(edit to fix quotes)

It's an interesting teleological debate actually, when you put it that way. The rules specifically disallow "post processing to B/W"; have you abused the rules by post processing white-to-black and black-to-white?
