I have many many times read the rants that people post about voters not "getting" their photos, or voting as if it DNMC etc..etc..etc...
I have a photo in one of the current challenges and I just received a comment to the effect that it DNMC. Problem is...it Does Meet Challenge...just not in such an obvious way.

The photo is not doing well in the challenge...I didn't really anticipate that it would because it is a little bit outside the box. I am not letting it get to me. My first reaction when I saw the comment was anger, because I know that it meets the challenge. But then I stopped and remembered that someone who didn't take the photo would probably not understand that or "see" it in the photo.

But I just had to post that I now understand how others feel when this happens to them. It isn't a great feeling, but I still like my photo and in the end - I think that is all that really matters to me!

I think it's great that instead of firing off a rant you took the time to think about what the viewer was seeing.

I just hope that after the challenge is over that the voters who thought my photo did not meet the challenge will read the description of my photo and see how it actually did.

The only problem, is that with a description a ton of photos could meet a challenge. However, you have to convey 'meeting the challenge' to the masses in order to score well. I think this is primarily because many voters only spend 10 seconds looking at a photo. They generally don't stop and ponder a deep meaning, KWIM?
