How about a Circumstantial Challenge?
Challenge: Circumstantial
Challenge Details: Your circumstantial subject(s) should have no primary significance by themselves but when compiled together the viewer can see the intent of your photograph.

But this might call for the mass of DPC voters to actually (*gasp*) think about the photograph they are voting on instead of hitting the five and moving happily on their way.
I actually think this is wonderful. It will give a chance for some really outside the DPC box entries which I'm quite ready to see these days.

This sounds very interesting. It also sounds like one of those challenges that it takes me a week plus a day to come up with an idea. :-) |

Glad to see you are NOT prone to speculation and generalizations. I am a member of the masses, and I devote a great deal of time to that segment of these challenges, as do countless numbers of others. I can assure you that dismissive comments of this ilk to little to encourage participation. I do not wish to offend, but it might be prudent not to make such sweeping accusations.

I have yet to find anyone on this site who can effectively define what is "Out of the box". I have seen several stunning images that offered a new perspective of a challenge whilst still adhering to the prescribed guidelines.... however, in a great number of instance the artist proferred an image that had no relation to the theme at hand.
I am very open minded individual and appreciate a variety of art forms. When I want to see truly different things... there are other sites I visit.
Just a thought.
