Anyone else had this problem? My 1-year-old computer recognizes my 4-month-old Canon A620 just fine, but it doesn't know the 3-month-old S2 IS exists. I had the same split on my mom's Mac, where the A620 worked fine, but not the S2 IS.

I have a card reader that was built into the computer, but the camera downloads at least twice as fast. Don't really know why, but that's the situation.

I keep switching my SD card to the A620 to download.

Have you installed the software for the cam? I nearly always use a cardreader to upload to the pc.

Is there any setting in the camera to enable transfer? It seems if it's not being recognized by any computer (including a Mac) that something is turned off.

Good suggestions, but still baffling.

I should've mentioned that it worked fine for a while, then stopped. That's what's so baffling.

Because it's an older camera than the A620, and they're both Canon, it's the same app, but an older version. So no, I didn't install the older version.

Troubleshooting the S2 @ the Canon Site. Click on the Drivers/Software link and see if it will help.

Thanks. I appreciate the link, but I've been there before.

They don't offer a driver for Win XP, only older versions of Windows.

I guess I just need to take it in for service. Hopefully it's under warranty since it's only a few months old.
