This week we've had some wonderful lightning, I know M.O.C. will have hundreds from these storms. Since I am a lazy guy, I decided to try shooting without a tripod at slow speed. Lightning acts similar to a strobe, in some cases you can shot 4 to 6 second exposures hand held. If you are caught without a tripod, there is a chance for good lightning results. Here are a few of my efforts.

July 18th - Daytime shot with normal light meter reading over Pueblo.

July 19th - over my home, hand held at 6 seconds.

July 20th - Over my house, hand held at 4 seconds.

Comments welcome, discussion would be fun, or other shots would be great. Van

some cool shots there, i tried to capture some lightning the other night. I got 2 or 3 shots with single bolts in them however only one was bright enough to really see detail. seen alot of nice ones but never while shutter was open, now my wife thinks i am crazy because I am praying for another thunder storm.

I like this one best
