focuspoint, why don't you look into DailyAwards.com? It's free and every shot you upload goes into voting. They have 21 different categories, including one called Other, so every photo has a place to go and be judged. Many dpc'ers have done well over there, in fact you could say we dominate.

My goal is not spreading my photos to other places... I am happy here anyway (unless if you really want me to go, I leave you the key, so you can water my floral photos while I am gone)... Mine was a suggestion like any other suggestions here :)

If someone says "Hate" my idea, I protect it :) wouldn't you. Opinion is good thing to have within smooth borders :)

Now, I will go check that website anyway, and if I like it a lot, and leave DPC... you have a lot explaining to do to Langton, because I promised a few free membership to people each year :)

I personally don't mind the idea. If I wanted to have pictures up and not get feedback on them, I wouldn't be on DPC at all.

I often have cool shots that I get that have no place in a challenge, might be nice for random passers-by to be able to give a psuedo-vote on it.

But really, I don't care either way.

Actually, how about if this "voting" process would NOT be anonymous. Same as comments, or rather, built off the comments and you can leave the stars if you care to comment while your at it. Would keep the trolls out of the picture, and encourage constructive criticism instead of empty low votes.

If it were set up that way, I'd really like it.

I'm sorry I used such a strong word as hate. I can see this would be something that many people would like. I guess if this became a feature I would just have to chose more carefully what photos I put in my profile. Personal shots that I have some kind of emotional attachment to would be removed and I would stick with shots that were taken specificaly to try a technique or effect etc. That would be fine.
I really wasn't trying to attack you, just giving my oppinion on how I would feel about it. Sorry for any hurt feelings.
