Andreas Klöden the T-Mobile captain will be one to watch. A good allrounder and especially good in the mountains. Not to mention his 2nd place overall in the Tour in 2004.

Oh, no question there. But I'm enjoying the opportunity those who go for the jerseys other than yellow are getting to show their stuff. It's all good! I'm also paying close attention to some of these "lesser" climbs - may have to try one or two!

Yep, he most definitely has the capability to do good things here. And with no Jan to ride for, I have to say that T-Mobile will do all they can to help Andreas. He's been quiet so far - I've no doubt that's by design!

It pays to be quiet before the mountains, just wait for all the excited guys to blow themselves away in the first stages and hit later, Lance always did the same thing.

The GC contenders just try to stay out of trouble the first week, which sadly didn't work for Valverde. The sprinters are the first week's contenders - then if they're in the run for the green jersey, they just try to survive the mountains. When I do get the chance to go in person, I'm definitely finding a mountain to sit on and watch from - always fun when they get there! (And they're going slow enough you can shoot them as long as you're on the uphill side!)

I saw shots of Dekker from yesterday's crash. Man he was a MESS!

You know, I've been going back and looking at Georgie's performance over the last several months...I am really, really thinking he can take the whole thing.

I read somewhere earlier today that they had Dekker in an induced coma last night so they could clean up his face. Don't think I want to see pictures! Also read that the two of them (Dekker and Freddie) crashed after hitting a pothole in the road. Now that's sad!

Time trial predictions?

I'm thinking either Landis or Millar. I'm also thinking the Quick Step boys are gonna take it easy. I'd imagine Robbie may not go all out either. :-)

ack! What happened to Levi this morning? He's 5 minutes off of the best time :(

Still haven't heard an explanation for Levi's performance, but oh what a crash for Julich! That looked like it hurt REALLY bad. The guy who won (can't spell his name) was quite tickled, though, don't you think?

Sergei Honchar? Um. yeah he was tickled. "just a little bit"
LOL!

Wow - very costly crash for Verbrugghe today. :-( Could well end his cycling career.

Gotta say that without a clear "patron", this has been a really interesting Tour to watch with it's myriad of developments!

I "read" the tour at work when I can sneak a peek, and I'm watching it now. Gotta say I feel bad for Floyd. Bad time to have a bad day! From his interview afterwards, he said he felt bad from the beginning of the day today. I've never pulled off a century - I can't imagine riding that or more nearly every day for three weeks, let alone over the mountains! So I can understand how one might "feel bad" for a day or so.
