Why is it flies like to sit and poo on my i-mac monitor?
They're irritating me a lot!

you mean the yellow sticky things? that's rude, even for a fly. they stay alive for a long time after sticking.
and, it doesn't look nice when I have to tape it on my mac :P ;)

Hm. Good point, although I would argue that it is also rude to poop on your computing equipment.
Maybe they're attracted to the light...
*shrug*
edit: I would like to add that I have never before heard of anyone noticing fly poop and tried googling it and didn't result in much and so I am finding this thread very weird, and I hope that you are able to work out a good solution soon.

Well, I do notice when I'm using the computer and the monitor is the only source of light in the room, little buggies like to come and watch what I'm typing... so maybe if you set up another spot for light they wouldn't stick around and poop on things. |

Just spray the insect killer spray things around your desk...
or if you're more merciful get those dancing show piece things that just keep on moving. Flies get scared of those moving things.
If you don't think the insanity of watching the darn thing the whole day is possible then I think the light thing should work..
Maybe you should the territorial thing and ahemmm...

Everybody knows the I-Mac monitor housings are made of the same stuff they make jawbreakers with. That's why the screens are often referred to as "eye candy." |

Yeah, this thread is very very weird.
But to avoid the flies coming near your computer try leaving close to it one half of a lime with some cloves (a spice called clavo in spanish)nailed to it, and this will keep them away.
Good luck with the flies' poop :-) |

Flies hate basil. Put a basil plant or some leaves near your monitor. :) |

Hang up a half full ziploc bag of water. Don't know how it works, but everybody around here where I live hangs it outside thier front door to keep the flies from coming inside and it works. Or, just buy a trusty fly strip. |

It's one of these:
//www.candywarehouse.com/jawbreakers.html
It's the size of a a gumball to the size of a fist and hard. You'll break your jaw if your try to bite down on it. The trick to finishing one is to suck on it. (Pervert alarm)
