Is it possible with the konica minolta maxxum 7d? and if it is what type of filter would be recommended? |

Point a tv remote at your camera and snap a shot while pressing the remote. If you can capture anything coming from the front of the remote your camera can do IR.
Hoya r72 filter will help you.

I think there's only one generally accepted IR filter as mentioned above.
The 7D sensor is basically the same as the D70 sensor. The D70 does a nice job. The KM ought to as well. |

i could not get anything from the remote with the 7d but i could with my powershot sd450. and im pissed cause thats not fair. |

Hrm. Bummer.
Could you try it again in a very low light situation for like 20 seconds with multiple presses or holding it down?
Different sensors have different sensitivities to IR. |
