I did portraits for a friend yesterday. I had no reflector since the dog chewed my poor mans version up, I don't have an external flash yet- hopefully hubby will come through on my bday next month. My tripod is no good lol. Only thing I have is my camera right now and she was still willing to do them. I edited in PSE 4.0.
Please don't copy and redit. Just tell me what I could do differently. I did these for free since she is a family friend and they are going to be ordering the prints themselves.

outdoor portraits

p.s. the bottom portrait, I had to clone out some grass, and I can tell where now, but what can I do to make it less obvious? I have to use a mouse.

Left a couple too. In general I'm not too taken with the border on the photos as it doesn't appear to enhance the image. Try some other borders perhaps.

The actual prints won't have any borders. But thank you for the input on that.

The one that you said is oof, is actually very sharp in color but I softened it- my friend liked it though I'm not crazy about it. I took over 40 shots of her daughter and these were her favorites.

I left comments on each of the images.

I saw the pictures before I saw the discussion here ... so my comments about focus issues may be mute. Except let me add this: If you're going to soften the image, then mask out the eyes and mouth so that they remain sharp.
