Because of the nature of my profession, I travel a lot. I even cross the date line on a weekly basis. So, in order to participate in challenges, do I need to change the date/time every time I get to a new time zone?
In order to keep it simple, I have always been using UTC/GMT time in my digital cameras. That way I am never in doubt what time it is, local, or a wrong one? Too bad there is no GPS built into my camera, so it could update the time/date automatically, wouldn't mind to have a local time as long as it said what time zone (and difference from UTC) it is in the EXIF data. Would also be neat to have position and direction (if also compass installed) of any shot, automatically.
But the most important question is - will I be DQd for having UTC, not local time, in my camera?
Please see the practical matters of this - and if I wanted to cheat, for whatever reason, I could change time/date to anything, at any time, anyway :-)
