I have a suggestion :)

How about having a slot for the "time of exposure" when uploading photos for challenges and into your portfolio...

and "focal length used" on zoom lenses.

Isn't that called SHUTTER SPEED?

I think it was time of day, not duration of exposure.

I totally agree. It's good to see the # after you see a great shot with a particular lense.

I second, third, whatever we are at for this. I would also like to be able to search by range of focal length (too much right - oh well had to add it on the list).

just a curiosity... why "time of the day"?

because i am often curious of what time of day the shot was taken... especially if it is outdoors... just for informational purposes as far as lighting goes... sometimes i can't tell if it's sunrise or sunset... etc.

I would be in favor of adding focal length and time of day fields, but I would also like to see the current fields (aperture, ISO, & shutter speed) made mandatory, at least for challenge entries.

I agree it's ashame to go to the winners and have nothing but N/A in the EXIF data. The least important would be time of day for me, but camera settings inclusing focal legth should be required in all entries ... not required in normal portfolio photos.

yeah, okay, when I have 55 seconds left to enter, I guess I'll just put in crap.

Forcing people to do certain things, just causes them to rebel.

What if, once the challenge is over, the top 10 or 20 people were asked to add in the info if they haven't already? Is that feasible? Considering this is a fantastic learning atmosphere, it would tremendously help people with less experience...and to better emulate the "effect" that they see in a photo. I know it would help less experienced photographers like me. :)

yep, a simple request can usually go a long way. You may not get them all, but it's a start.
