Why thank you! Just yesterday and today I was at the fairgrounds taking shots, practicing. I was thrilled to say the least when I gave one 4x6 to a woman with a Morgan and she said, "You're a professional, aren't you!" I said, "I'm working on it, this is all practice for me and when they come out I share them." She showed it to her sister and said, "This nice woman took this yesterday and she was just practicing, can you believe that?"

I'll post the pictures later, still working on some shots from today. :)

Pictures from this weekend at the horse show

Some suck, some not so bad, some are really good. I did super quick edits on all of them so I know some of the colors are off, need to be tweaked. Looking for more critique on the style and such.

i suppose style varies by breed. at arabian shows at the trot OR jog they usually prefer the two of the horses legs elivated, seeing how a TRUE trot or jog involves diagonal pairs of a horses legs alternating turns on the ground.(ie, left front and right hind on the ground, so right fron and left hind would be mid air) typically they prefer a horse photographed with a horses railside front leg at forward and at peak of elivation. a horse is desired to have a low head carrige, and if arabian high tail carrige, and with all breeds ears forward. at the canter, unless in a native costume class, the inside or leading leg should be forward when photographed

to explain myself even further, arabians a breed of horse that are intended to be short backed, and haveing their rail leg forward prevents them from appearing long

I like to tip them over when they aren't paying attention. ;-)

OK, but what I really like to do is put clown-wigs on one while he's asleep. Then, when he wakes up all the other horses are laughing at him, and he doesn't know what the big joke is, so he just kind of laughs along, trying to be one of the herd.
