Okay, first off, you all will think i'm crazy for what i'm about to say.

This IR image was produced by taking 2 "blank" colored slide films and taping it to my old point and shoot camera. I was interested in IR and wanted to test it out before buying a 70 dollar filter for my dslr.

This is the result I got, and I'm not sure how to post process the image to get the IR look. I looked up how to post process IR images, and all the sites deal with doing it in RAW....and my old point and shoot doesnt shoot in RAW. What i have done just seems to pretty much look like the whole image is desaturated

Most the images i have taken look something like this, is it even possible to get a good looking image out of it? I dont even hear the camera focusing and I dont think it is.

Do you have a higher quality copy?

I am by no means an expert, but thought it would be fun to have a go at it, this is what I came up with:

A higher quality pic would definitely help (too much jpg compression)

Edit: if yo like it I can post my steps, otherwise... well, I understand ;)

When shooting IR you should look for skies with some clouds, but not overcast.

and yeah, today was a very overcast/ even rained at times day which is another reason why they pics didnt come out too well. But this is one of the last pics i took when the clouds were clearing and sun started coming out, but the sun was going down so the light still wasnt there.

Thanks already for the trys, and all post process steps would help.

More sunlight equals more IR. Sunny days are great to shoot them.
