I am planning on buying an IR filter, propably a Hoya RM72, for use with my Sony DSC-W5. I just want to know if anyone uses this setup, and if it will work well, or if I'm just wasting my money. The filter is rather expensive, as with all camera gear here in South Africa, so I really want to be sure before I order.
Can't seem to spell since I left school :D

Have you done the IR-test using an IR remote? How bright is the IR diode through your camera? I think it's a gamble with IR photography - some cameras are more sensitive than others.
Well, hope my post serves as a bump for your thread.
Dont expect much reply at this time of the day tho - most of them are asleep!

| I'be done the IR diode test and the diode is fairly bright in a dimly lit room. |
