Some pretty good photos, I like your use of angle and perspective in many of them. Very nice!

The same thing happened for me with the Perspective challenge. I just got back from the Virgin Islands and while I was down there I saw an opportunity to take some shots that I have been thinking about for about six months now. They would have been perfect for the Perspective challenge. I took my shots over the course of two days and when I got back I saw the Perspective challenge. However, this challenge started on the day after I took the last of the shots.

Thants too bad..these are really nice shots!! love the 4th one!!

Actually opposite happened with me for the Stationary challenge, I almost did not enter the shot, realized it at 11:30pm (deadline date) that I have a shot from my trip that will work just right!

Sometimes you break Murphy's law ;)

Compare my slightly edited version of your shot. Other than the white border, what's the difference?

It stands out like a beacon to me, but is so easy to fix.

Yep, you got it: tilted horizon. It gets my attention like nails on a chalkboard and it takes a lot away from several of your shots that you posted. Making sure that your horizon is level (or purposefully off level for effect) makes a big difference in how it feels to view a photograph

I like this shot, though, and I especially like the one that you have titled Beach2.

those are the cement ships at kiptopeke state park on teh eastern shore of virginia...they are WWII cement ships used to create a reef for the fish.

seriously...thanks. i actually knew the horizon was tilted in few. i think i fixed it in only one :)

i think my face is crooked or something (no kidding)...my photos are ALWAYS 2 degrees off CCW. isn't that weird???

As much as it bothers me to have an unlevel horizon, I am almost always off. I try to get it right while composing the shot, but for some reason I usually miss by a little and have to do some slight cropping. I am starting to pay more attention to the marks in my viewfinder to keep things level, but I'm not always successful.

If you enter unlevel horizons in challenges, voters will generally eat your lunch on them.

wow, you know, there is a wwII cement ship here on the west coast as well, just south of Santa Cruz. Popular photo spot.

you are SO right about this! i've been called out on this in a few challenges! LOL!!!

i think with my uneven horizons and the inclusion of children in most of my challenges, i will ALWAYS get beat down!!!

Even when you have gone out of your way to make sure it is level.

I just got back from the beach as well. Should we turn this into the "I just got back from the beach and now they have this challenge" thread? I could post a few shots this evening.

Is that the one with the Chain Link fence trying to keep peeps off the broken bow? Me and the bros would go hang out on that at night time :) (went to Aptos high)

Cool to see someone from the old hood around here. I lived down by Manresa beach (late 70's).
