I'm going filter happy. Researching I noticed the "P" sizes are (might?) not so good with super-wide angle lenses (vignetting).

I'd like to be able to use the filters on my 12-24 as well as my upcoming 70-200 (both 77mm fyi).

Anybody got real-world btdt advice?
"P" works just fine with the super wides?
You'll find limitations with "P" and the wides?
I went P and finally settled on Lee?
I went cokin pro?
Vignetting's not a problem dewd, just buy the P?

P will definately vignette on the superwides.

I used the P on my film camera with the 17-40 and got vignetting.

You need a holder that is wider than the P.

I use the Lee filter system with 4X6" filters with all of my lenses, including the Tokina 12-24.

I use a P on a 24mm wide angle that has a lens filter size of 82. I have not had any problems. I believe 82 is the advertised max size. I also use them on my 70-200 canon. They are correct tho, a super wide angle will probably cause problems.

The trouble with the P system with ultra wides is the holder not the filters. The Cokin holder has several slots, but you only need one. With my Nikkor 12-24 I just dremeled (a verb?) all but the first slot and it worked fine.

With my EF-S 10-22, even the Cokin P Wideangle filter holder causes vignetting. I've resorted to just holding the filter in front of the lens. I've dropped my Cokin filters so many times in the dirt and put them in pockets with other items -- they're totally scratched up. Doesn't seem to affect photo quality though, even at f/14.
