I am having a hard time finding a mono mini-plug for my pocket wizards. I found 2 while in the states but I need a 3rd and I really don't want to pay $18 for one from B&H.
My question is:
If I have a PW Plus on my background light, a PW Plus on my main, and a PW MultiMax on my camera....is there a way to fire my 3rd light? I am using Alien Bee 800's. I hope to find the mono miniplug soon, but I need something to work for now while still having my camera wire-free. I realize I may have to hook a light or two together until then.
Thanks :)

You could just use the optical slave on the B800.

If you're "in studio" then you really only need to get one of your lights to fire. The rest can be fired as optical slaves.
The only time you really need to have PW on all your lights is if you are in a non-studio environment where either he flash will not be seen by the other flash(es) because the light is blocked or drowned out, or you have multiple photographers present and you don't want your strobes going off because of their flashes (as in wedding receptions).

Thank you both.
From my research when I was looking to purchase strobes, I read that the slave is not as reliable as PW's. (And it is why I decided to go for a PW with each light.)
Do you find that you have trouble with lights not firing consistantly? To be perfectly honest, I have not used my 3rd light yet. I am pretty new to strobes...purchased this set back in oct/nov.
Thanks for your help :)

what kind of connectors are we talking about? my strobe has a 1/4 inch connector (same as a guitar of or a pa system) and generally a micro connector is considered an 1/8th which is the same as a mono version of an mp3 headphone jack or similar. You can get a converter like that for really cheap from any place that sells audio stuff, like radio shack for example.
oh and it would be called something like...
mono 1/4 male to mono 1/8th male cable.

For the PW's...I need the 1/8" mono to 1/8" mono. Everything I can find that size is STEREO! When we were in the states, I tried every Radio Shack in Pensacola, FL and that is where I found the 2 I have. I have tried a couple audio stores here in Guam to no avail. I think I am just going to have my dad scout one out for me. Who would have thought it would be so hard to find!
