Anyone know the size of the end caps for the EOS cameras? in this image there is a lenscap set i want to get for my camera but im not sure if the end cap will fit. Right now im using 49mm push on front caps but they are a little cheezy. I wanted somthing that had a little better fit.
If you notice in the picture the endcap has a taper so they will push on or push into an open back lens like what i have.
Anyone have one of these can measure them for me and give me an idea the size?

Shouldn't they be universal for a particular camera mount? Bought a bunch of these for Pentax mount screw on ones for >$1.50 when I was in Japan.

Yeah, all the rear caps will be the size of the EF mount. Although the EF-S mount sticks out a little farther in the back, so a regular rear cap won't stay on those.
The front caps are just measured by filter ring size... are you wanting a rear cap for your extension lenses, or what? |

Yes, the canon S2 uses an extension tube. The back is about 50mm the way the tube fits on the S2 it has 3 little tabs that twist and lock on the camera body.
I thought maybe these would fit, if you look at the size of the front lens cap it looks very similar in size but i thought maybe some one here could measure or test the rear side of an EOS lens to see if it was near or around 49-58mm i dont have an SLR so i dont know.
Its kind of hard to judge the scale of the e-bay picture, i dont even know if the cap in the picture is a 58mm. The box says 58mm next to the canon lens cap but that does not mean it is. Thats why i wanted some help from some one who actualy has an EOS mounted lens. I thought maybe they could measure it, try a 49mm cap or somthing and see how close they are in size.

If you are looking to cover the rear of your extension tube, I doubt if either a standard Canon lens cap or a body cap will work. Best bet is probably a slip on cap that fits over the outside diameter of the tube's back end. The rear lens cap that is the middle one in your first pic is a standard Canon item for all EOS mount lenses. It is not a push on, but rather a bayonet type that twists onto the rear of any EOS lens.

I'll bet it has something to do with Bower's ongoing project to turn his S2 into a 1Ds ;-) |
