Can I use a "can of air" - the charged air cans to blow this dust off the mirror? I know it is not on the sensor because I took the lens off and actually can see the peice of dust stuck to the mirror.

No, don't use the canned air. It's not air, it's a freon-like chemical that can contain traces of oily lubrricants.

Edit: use a bulb blower to knock it off there.

Yup. Turn the camera upside down and blow so it does shoot back into the camera.Thread from earlier in the day.

nevermind...i remembered i had a bulb syringe, the type you use to spray water into an ear canal with, and I went and got it...it hasn't been used in months so I know its completely dry...

two puffs of air from it got the dust off, everything looks beautiful...took 5 test shots just to make sure everything was still functioning properly - looks like it did the job.

Thanks guys.

That's what I also recommended on the other thread. It works, who cares what it was intened to do on the packaging.
