Hear, hear, that's cool, when do WE get to hear? :)

The Violin is a personal favorite of mine.... (followed closely by the chinese variant the Er Hu)...

you'd be surprised where a music education will get you. my degree in jazz performance (eventually) brought me to a large multi-national company, where my arts background helped me carve a unique niche of a job which combines business with all my artistic endeavours, from music to photography to illustration and beyond.

many companies are looking beyond the usual business degrees and MBAs for people that can bring a new perspective to their business, something that gives them a competitve advantage. they are paying quite handsomely for it too.

best of luck with your masters. of course perforance after graduation will be your first priority, but regardless your degree will be very valuable when you have completed it.

There's only one reason for this... you displayed the talent, skills, and attitudes/behaviors that your professor believes are key to achieving excellence. Kudos to you, and to him for recognizing your potential. If I had a beer, I'd raise it to you!

Alright here are some mp3's

Hosting thanks to my new website
//www.weddingsdonedigital.com (a work in progress) and godaddy :-D

250gigs a month so i'm not too worried about downloads. Should be fast enough but if it slows too much feel free to rehost.

Please note these are all live recordings. I wish I coulda used a studio but I couldn't, and there are some obvious moments (page turns and mistakes etc). I hope you enjoy them. Right click and save as (mac people I dunno what you do).

Very passionate sonata of the 3 grieg wrote for violin. Started out not really liking the piece but eventually really fell in love with it.
11.4mb
Logan & Friends - Grieg - Violin Sonata 3 in C minor, op 45 - Allegro molto ed appassionato

This is my quintet who I worked with for two semesters, and hopefully will continue with now that i'm going back to UD. Wonderful group, and a wonderful piece.
11.4mb also
Logan & Friends - Schumann - Piano Quintet in E Flat, Op. 44, Allegro brilliante

This last one is by far the hardest and I spent almost a full year studing just this piece. I never got it as good as I wanted, but I was really happy with how well I progressed over the year. This is one of the "big 5" concertos and is the most played by soloists with the philly orchestra.
24.3mb
Logan & Friends - Tchaikovsky - Violin Concerto in D major, op 35 - mvt I, allegro moderato

oh by the way i was privileged enough to get to play part of the Tchaikovsky for a winner of the Tchaikovsky competition(competition dedicated to this piece, which should give you a sense of the class of this piece), which is a worldwide competition held every year. That was pretty cool :-)

Wow.

Isn't it amazing how we develop simple 2d images in our mind of people online, but we're all complex beings that's for sure!

Congrats, and good luck with your masters.

I'm humbled, and envious of people who manage to master musical instruments as you have, it takes dedication and passion that seems to escape so many of us, myself included.

Cheers, Chris H.

Well, I've lisened to two of them so far and you and your friends are very talented. All you need to do is switch to the viola instead (my old instrument). *grin* Unfortunately for me I couldn't, for the life of me, get myself to do the vibrato. I even had a line on a several thousand dollar Viola for free if I was able to stick with it for several more years. I wasn't that good, even without being able to do the vibrato. You're much better. Much.

Congrats! Your professor must have such faith in your skills - that itself is most cool.
