Let the debate begin!!!!!!!!!

Italy 1-0. I think their defense will be TO much for France.

I think that all the players of Italy will be to worried about finding a new job for next year (when Juve, AC Milan and some other clubs will be degraded to lower divisions) to play well.
I hope France wins, because I seriously dislike the corrupt Italians.

I bet on France. I think Zidane is going to go out on top. He is the heart of the team and I think he'll inspire them to do some great things. I also expect a big game from Henry.

I think it'll end up being 1-1 with France winning on a golden goal. Even if that doesn't happen it would be nice to see someone beat that Italian goalkeeper.

Apart from the fact that the Golden Goal in extra time rule was used in only a few tournaments, but not this World Cup.

I don't really care who wins... hopefully it'll be a good game though. If you're going to make me pick... 2-1 France, with Zidane scoring early and Henry scoring the go ahead in the final minutes.

I think it's going to be 1-0 or 2-0 for either team. As soon as one of these teams score, they will pull into their shell and do what either team does best...defend.

I thought you were going to say as soon as one team scores the other will start diving and faking injuries to get calls. :P

Oh wait, Brazil was eliminated. :P

Brazil? Italy and Portugal do the same thing.

We need some fans to act like judges and hold up scores after each dive.

England is my team

France was my pick to win it all. Check the threads, its true....

So I pick France 1-1....PK difference.

Two teams that know each other from playing in the same clubs and tournaments. Two sound defences. 0-0 after ninety minutes. 0-0 after extra time. All bets are off after that.

That's a pessimistic view, of course. Let's hope someone cracks the mould. Zizou is unstoppable. Totti is unstoppable. Something's got to give.

I'll be watching...

Some of these guys are such little weenies... and not very good actors! I do agree about the scores from the fans, that would be great!

I am severely mad at the French right now... first they beat my top pick: Spain....don't even get me started... then they go and beat Brazil.... then Portugal!!! What the heck!! The nerve of those French, I tell ya. I just finished my fifth year of learning French but until I recover and forgive them for what they've done I am no longer speaking the language. :) :) :) What I'm trying to say is..... GO ITALY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-0!

PS: Do you think we can throw Christiano Rinaldo and Beckham into the mix just for a litttttle something to drool over. :o)

It was just a jab. If I listed off every team that does it I would have never finished the post. :P

but we'll really shake 'em up...

You certainly would on this occasion. :-)

"Tonight, we march North tae Germany"

"But sir, Germany's South"

"Aye, we'll march around the world and take them from behind"

As ever a tournament of conflicting strategies.

I'm picking Italy - but only so that we (australians) can say that we were knocked out by the team that ended up winning the the whole tournament!

Hmm... I wonder what Brazilians are thinking about that ;)

go aZZuris!!

I want France to win. Then Brazil (my favorite) can lay claim to a pseudo "second place", having lost only to France. :-)

Maybe with that cheap shot and red card by Zidane the announcers will finally get their nose out of his...

Unreal he would do that. Not the way you want to exit a sport.

WTF was that all about? Man, the Italian must have really said something to him...

I was slightly pulling for Italy before, now I'm fully in their corner.
