I had used bulb mode on my 20D quite a bit a few weeks ago. When I tried to use it for July 4th fireworks, it no longer worked! I tried it with and without my cable release. Instead of displaying "bulb" on the top lcd, it displays a shutter speed. When pressing the shutter, the exposure only lasts as long as the displayed shutter speed, not until the shutter is released. Any ideas? I haven't contacted Canon yet.

| Which shooting mode is the camera set to? Is bulb mode unavailable in any of the auto/semi-auto modes? |

My 300 only allows bulb in manual. Not time priority. May be different from the D20???

even with the 20D - you must be in Manual mode. I wouold check to make sure you were not turned one spot too far into the ADEPTH mode

Man, I'm stupid! For some reason I was thinking A-DEP was bulb mode! Makes ya wonder how I was ever able to win a challenge, huh. I think I'm gonna have to blame this one on all the alcohol before the fireworks show...Thanks everybody.
