Here's an alternate shot of a hummer I took on the same trip as my ribbon winning shot:
I actually like this shot more than my ribbon winner. I didn't use it because I was worried that there was not enough blur in the wings to meet the challenge of "motion blur." Here is the challenge shot:
Of course, in editing the outtake, I also had the benefit of the comments on my challenge shot, for instance, to tone down the awful background. |

You bet. The first one is just "wow"! I think this one would have also won ribbon :)

A shameless bump and the marking of a minor milestone: I just received my 1000th comment from Phil Eldson. It was a comment on my hummer ribbon winner (see above). Thanks Phil and thanks DPC for all the great feedback over the last few years.
