| Has anyone ever tried adding diopters (close-up add-on lenses) to a Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 APO DG MACRO? |

| I think for that kind of lens people usually mount a reversed normal lens for extreme macro. Not sure about the macro filters though. They should work I suppose. |

Here is a recent shot that took a red ribbon using the reversed lens technique and added with it a tutorial hotlinked to the front page...
On the other hand, the 70-300 is a fairly low magnification for macro stuff... I find that to be pretty useful for things like larger flowers and larger bugs, but if you wanted something in between, I believe there are some close-up lenses that some have reported decent quality in using... I understand that it's never going to be really great...
Another optically powerful method is using tube extenders... I need to read up on that more... |
