here is my attempt to make a hot air ballon into a mars lander, What do you think? any Ideas to improve would be welcome. This photo is in dueo-tone

Like the picture but truth of fact is it would not work well for a Mars lander... the atmosphere there is very thin and provides little buoyancy.

For landers NASA has used protective inflated balloons surrounding the landing craft to help soften the impact of landing. What happens is the balloons inflate before impact and the craft bounces many times on the surface before it finally stops. Then the ballons are deflated and the lander emerges.
