I wanted to learn about Printing Process Photograph. I mean how they are actually printed using a minilab.

I mean what sort of corrections lab does on our images etc. I want to know about codes printed on backside of Photographs.

Recently i had given some photographs to be printed from minilab and asked for a no color correction should be done. When i went to collect it , i saw the backside and saw code printed and saw instead of N N N N there digit in one N's place.

I asked him what did he do and he said they had changed density. I did not what density meant. I realised i was ignorant about printing process.

I knew nothing except how to make printable images.

So i decided to understand Printing Process better.
Any one can tell me any resources on net.

Here's some definitions related to print density. This is what came up when I googled 'print density'.

I don't know either. I trust my digital info to the print gods and lovely images come back. That works for me. :)
