I know there have been a number of 'color' challenges already. But while at Target today, I noticed their current decorations include a bunch of photos done in red and white (yes, of course I check out and 'score' photos every where I go). It would be fun to have some color combination challenge, like red&white or blue&yellow or even three colors... It would be pretty to vote on at least.

You mean like Duotones?

No, not really - those were sort of monochromatic looking. More like the complimentary colors, only with a set color combo, which would NOT be blue and orange, otherwise Rikki would have an unfair advantage.

I'm thinking color separation layers with black white and one other color.

Maybe call it "Black, White and ?? all over" :P

Long ago we ran three consecutive challenges along these lines:

Primary Colors
Secondary Colors
Complementary Colors

and at least one of those has since been repeated..

It might be interesting to pick two arbitrary colors, e.g. pink and green, and see what people come up with.

I've always thought a "Black & White" challenge would be cool. And I'm not talking about a black & white photograph, I'm talking about a photograph with Black and White. You know what I mean?

Please pick other colors if you use my plan -- those were deliberately not a good suggestion ...

What's Black and White and Red all over?

College answer: Newspaper

5th grade answer: A zebra at the bottom of a cliff.

Pink and Black.

I also like the idea of "Black" with any other color, as some of the results would be really great.....

black/red - black/pink - black/orange - black/blue - black/purple black/gold - black/silver, but not black & green.....

Another idea re "color", is just that "COLOR", take an image in "Bright Colors', similar to the "10" challenge idea. Could be using "two" colors or maybe "three" colors or lots of colors, endless ideas there.....

how about this: photograph using duotones, and your photo must include the following items: a person, 2 dogs, 3 monkeys, 1 gorilla and 2 rhinos. No toys or fake animals or person is allowed.

Quite a feat to get all into the composition, wont it? hehe

I think this would be neat, but please don't choose green, foliage and flowers makes it too easy. Black and blue? Blue and red? Orange and purple?

I once worked on a promotional project which used orange and purple : )

Dennys restaurants used to feature a pink and orange motif which had been tested and found to be the least pleasant combination for most people, discouraging undesirable behaviors such as lingering at the table after the meal, and freeing up the table for the next customer faster.

Bring it on, as there are some really great ideas here.....
