You may or may not have heard of a new trend called the "Hipster PDA." Basically, you print off a bunch of index cards with things you'd commonly use on a PDA, like calendars, and then clip them together with a big clip.
In any case, one of the cards available is a photo release. It's based off a sample from the American Society of Media Photographers and looks pretty basic but I think the idea is neat. You could easily stuff a bunch of index card releases into a bag or backpack.
You have to download the entire file from here (there are a few different versions depending on how you want to print) but the release is on page 70. |

Formerly known as a notebook ... : )
The card release in the camera bag is a great idea -- thanks for the link. |

When I set up my first batch of photography "business" cards (I'm a hobbyist, not a pro) I actually put a very basic model release on the back, expecting that I could then use it for any street or public-place photography I did. Maybe it's the tight wording that you need to fit on the back of the business card - or maybe I'm just a wuss - but I never actually felt comfortable using it, I felt it was a bit too confronting to ask a complete stranger to actually sign away rights. Sounds like an index card is a better idea - enough space to construct a release that may be a bit more comfortable for people to sign.
